SOLDIERX.COM Nobody Can Stop Information Insemination

I am just starting out working mainly out of Backtrack instead of running it with windows. I would love some advice on what are some good/needed outside packets I should get and what I should stay away from. There are so many choices for Word Processors, Music/Media players, update managers, and so forth. Please advise
