End User Security and Antivirus issues...

This has been all over tech news, but as I keep seeing people who know nothing about this I cannot stress enough that there are security updates and antivirus software for computers for a reason. (Before any Mac fanboys say anything, even OS X does security updates as well so STFU.) Words cannot express my dismay when Windows users have this mentality that "They'll never get hit with anything bad" until it happens. In which case since I always try to warn people I have to fight the urge to say 'I told you so' for such overzealous behavior.

Another thing is that I've grown sick of how poor some AntiVirus programs are and I think RaT made the best comparison in this respect about what he would do if he met the Symantec CEO. After the meet and greet he would kick him square in the nuts then try again 5 minutes later. As the CEO would try to stop him from succeeding the second time he could use the point that maybe he should have tried to do something to stop it in the first place instead of being reactive as in the end he still got kicked in the nuts atleast once. Companies need to be proactive when it comes to stopping malware in it's tracks, yet the reality is that they aren't and it's why some people are STILL getting hit with different variants of the spysheriff trojan to this day.
