Craig Heffner

IRL Name:
Craig Heffner

Craig Heffner works for Tactical Network Solutions and owns the blog which is a good resource for hacking and playing with embedded systems. The WPS (WIFI Protected Setup) vulnerability was independently discovered by Craig Heffner but Stefan Viehböck of Austria was the first guy who reported the vulnerability and released the information about it to US-CERT. Craig and the rest of Tactical Network Solutions team conduct trainings about an Introduction to Embedded Device Exploitation class which is a hands-on 2-day course that teaches the fundamentals of both hardware and firmware analysis.

Craig and his team developed the tool “Reaver” which brute forces Wifi Protected Setup (WPS) registrar PINs in order to recover WPA/WPA2 passphrases in less than 10 hours.
