David Weekly is an American programmer, startup founder, mentor, advisor, investor, SCUBA diver and helicopter pilot. He has been programming since he was five and has coded for MIT, Harvard, Stanford, There.com, atWeb, and Legato. David wrote the first layman’s description of MP3 in early 1997 and graduated in 2000 with a BS in Computer Science from Stanford, where he was a President Scholar and a finalist in the ACM International Programming Competition.


David started Mexican.VC, Silicon Valley’s first seed stage fund for Mexican Internet companies.

He is the founder of the developer collective Hacker Dojo.

He was hired by Facebook for Developer Relations.

He has also gotten in trouble with a wide variety of folks, including Stanford Network Security and the Hillsborough Police Department.
