Defendant Jason Michael Downey pleaded guilty to Computer Intrusion, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1030(a)(5)(A)(I), on June 20, 2007.

Downey operated a botnet, a network of computers that he infected with a virus program giving him control over several thousand computers. Downey used this program to direct the botnet to attack several Internet companies, resulting in a loss of approximately $21,000.
