Joel Knight is active in the open source community and is a former committer and technical writer for the OpenBSD project where he wrote the bulk of the official user guide for the OpenBSD packet filter firewall system. Joel has been an active UNIX sysadmin since some of the earliest days of Linux and is fluent with Linux, Solaris, OpenBSD and FreeBSD. He has written a number of scripts for monitoring network infrastructure which he’s made available online under an open source license.
