What do you think?
I have been thinking about building myself a new desktop computer as of late and I know people that work for AMD and Intel, so I can get most parts for a decent price. I can't decide whether I want to build an Intel-based system with an Intel DP55WG Mobo with the Intel i5-750 or an AMD-based system with a Phenom II X4 965 Black edition. Here are prices if anyone thinks that it will help with their decisions.
AMD
Phenom II X4 965 Black + ATI Radeon HD 4870 (1GB DDR3) for $199.99
Intel
Intel DP55WG Mobo + Intel i5-750 for $229.99
Let me know what you guys think. I am basically just wanting to upgrade computers because my current desktop is a P4 3.06Ghz w/ 1GB of RAM and an nVidia GeForce 5500 (PCI) video card. Yes, I know, it's just a download computer at the moment. As far as what I will be using it for, I was thinking of doing some gaming on it (Counter Strike: Source, Call of Duty, etc), but for the most part, it will be a programming computer.
