Gaming on laptop

When I bought a laptop to take on the go with me, I decided to go with something lightweight and a good battery. So I got a toshiba protege with an i3 and Intel HD Graphics. I would like to play some games on here, mostly fallout 3 and maybe oblivion, anyone have some tips to improving fps so i don't lag too much?
