There is often talk about reducing the energy we use per person. Energy in any form.

The population increases every year, every day really, and that with that increase the energy consumption rate increases with each new person.

The act of converting energy from one form to another always wastes a percentage of the energy and that the utilization of energy releases or converts the energy to another less easily utilized from (I.E. Gasoline>Combustion>Heat).

Considering these things, is it really worth the time, money, and effort to find more efficient ways to utilize and convert energy sources, or would it be easier to just reduce our energy use?

Your insight, opinions, ideas would be appreciated.
