backtrack 3 blurry screen

just installed backtrack3 via usb. everthing seemed to go well but when it gets to main page with backtrack logo goes all blurry , totally unreadable . tried xconf to auto adjust graphics but didnt help. Have searched forum and web still no luck . pc spec- asus p5kpl-cm, core 2 duo , 2 gb mem, nvidia gt 220 , win xp, i have alpha awuso36h usb 1 watt wireless id like to change some settings with backtrack, want to go from 27dbi to 30 , thanks ahead of time for any help
