SOLDIERX.COM Nobody Can Stop Information Insemination

Alright here is the problem,
my laptop dont havd a cd/dvd rom, and there is no means i can get one now in my little cave. I want to install linux os on my VM, and i also wanna play around with backtrack and co.
How do i install linux on VM without a cd/dvdrom and run back track.
What version of linux do you recommend for a beginner in the linux os, one that can run a server.
