Why can't more Cease and Desist notices be like this?

In short, the cover of a guy's book looks similar to Jack Daniel's label. Rather than send the usual cease and desist, the company lived up to the moniker "Gentleman Jack" by sending a civil and thoughtful letter about it and even offer to help offset some of the costs. Wish some companies would take notes on this.
