My apologies if this topic has already been discussed; I searched and either didn't find the topic or didn't search hard enough, but lockpicking has always been (at least in my experience) a crucial and proxy skill to people interested in the fundamentals of "hacking". Two members of my maternal family (grandfather and uncle) were both locksmiths turned programmers, so this assuredly spawned my interest in hardware manipulation, entry access and mechanical curiosity.

If there are any other locksmiths frequenting this board, I'd love to hear your methods and exploits. Save the "wedge a library card in the deadbolt" posts for the tourists.
