Biography: 

He was born on January 15, 1963 in New York City, New York. He was the son of Martin Schneier, a former Brooklyn Supreme Court judge. He is an internationally renowned security technologist, cryptographer, computer security specialist, and author. He is described by The Economist as a "security guru," he is best known as a refreshingly candid and lucid security critic and commentator. Author of these infamous books; Liars & Outliers, Cryptography Engineering, Schneier on Security, Beyond Fear, Secrets and Lies, Practical Cryptography, Applied Cryptography, The Electronic Privacy Papers, The Twofish Encryption Algorithm, E-Mail Security, and Protect Your Macintosh. He also publishes a free monthly newsletter in Crypto-Gram, and a blog at www.schneier.com.

He also has spoken at various international security conferences.
