Blackberry Tethering - Windows

Prerequisites:

A blackberry phone, a service contract (researching, may be optional), a computer that doesn't already have internet access but will have it at the end of this tutorial.

Step 1:
Install your software and drivers as provided to you by your provider or from the internet.

Step 2:
Connect your phone to your machine by way of the USB cable.

Step 3:
Open up your network connections and say you want to create a new connection.
"Choose connect to the internet", "Set up manually", "Connect using dial up modem", "Type a name for the connection", and you can pretty much just keep clicking next; it doesn't matter right now.

Step 4:
Right click the connection you just created and go to "properties".
Type in the phone number (not your phone number, if you are unsure see the "other info" section of the tutorial).
Select the tab labeled "Security" and then the "Advanced/custom settings".

Step 5:
Click connect/double click the icon for the connection to connect.

Other info:
Some providers make you pay for the tethering option, some say "if you have a data plan, you can use it with no extra charge!"; it all depends on your carrier.

The phone number/s I mentioned entering above are as follows:
GSM/Cingular/AT&T/TMobile: Enter phone number *99#
iDEN/Nextel/Telus: Enter phone number S=2
CDMA/Verizon/Sprint/Bell Canada: Enter phone number #777

I did not have to do the below steps but some people may: (guess who my provider is lol)

Go to control panel and open up your modem options
click the modems tab, click standard modem then properties, and then the advanced tab
