Dr.SHA6H is a Syrian defacer who hacked the official United Nations website in Armenia and the Slovenian website of German antivirus software company Avira. His defacement message stated, “When patience and children being killed and women raped! three years in a row and there is no solution to the blood in Syria? what do you do if the blood of children oil… all the world is seeking to oil.. Is this humanity that we are studying in school and universities and everywhere? all we do now speech what action from government and human rights organizations!”

When he hacked and defaced 3 websites of the United Nations Information Center for Jakarta in May 2013, his defacement message stated, “Ops, This is Syria Today, Where are the claim to defend human rights? where are they fighting terrorism?”

Charged with hacking into the computer networks of the US military and Nasa, causing millions of dollars of damage.
Lauri Love, an activist in the Occupy movement, is alleged to have stolen ‘massive amounts’ of confidential information – including details of military servicemen – by breaking into thousands of computers.
The 28-year-old from Stradishall, Suffolk, is said to have bragged in messages with his co-conspirators: ‘You have no idea how much we can f*** with the US government if we wanted to’.

Love was described as a ‘sophisticated and prolific’ hacker in court documents filed in New Jersey, where he is charged with one count of accessing a US department or agency computer without permission and another charge of conspiracy.
The operation was carried out by the National Crime Agency, the new elite force known as 'Britain's FBI'.

Ross William Ulbricht known online as 'Dread Pirate Roberts' is a software engineer who is the alleged founder of a black market web site Silk Road. Federal prosecutors in New York charged him with one count each of narcotics trafficking conspiracy, computer hacking conspiracy and money laundering conspiracy.

Evil-Jo is a Jordanian defacer who has defaced multiple Palestinian websites, including that of the Palestinian Ministry of Justice (moj.gov.ps). He has conducted a mass defacement by hacking into a single Palestinian sever which hosted jenin.edu.ps, moj.gov.ps, arc.plo.ps, customs.pmof.ps, fatehpc.plo.ps, sphti.edu.ps, Jericho.edu.ps, cfa.pna.ps, mpwh.pna.ps, pcdc.edu.ps, pla.pna.ps, saacb.ps, and detulkarm.edu.ps.

le4derofh4ck is an Iranian defacer who defaced the website of New York University’s Asian/Pacific/American Institute (www.apa.nyu.edu) last September 2013.

John Anthony Borell III a.k.a was sentenced to 3 years or his part in the #OpPiggyBank hacking of police websites by the group CabinCr3w. He admitted in a signed plea deal, in early 2012, he attacked a server for Utahchiefs.org, a website for police in Syracuse, New York, the municipal website of Springfield, Mo., and a site for the Los Angeles County Police Canine Association.

This talk showcases free/open-source utilities and how to use them to test IDSes and firewalls. There have been a few talks on the common weaknesses of both kinds of products, but no practical means by which to test for said weaknesses. The point of the talk is to enable people to test vendor's claims (or their own products) themselves. This talk would be of interest to developers, security admins, product reviewers, and white/blackhat hackers. Knowledge of TCP/IP and programming are recommended.
